๐ŸŽฎ How to Play
What is Chain Forge?+

Chain Forge is a skill-based puzzle game where you solve pattern challenges to build a chain. Every correct answer adds a link. The longer your chain, the bigger your multiplier โ€” and the bigger your reward.

Success depends entirely on your ability to recognise patterns, think quickly, and stay focused under pressure. Skill wins.

How do I start playing?+

Four steps: create an account, choose a Forge Tier (Bronze to Diamond), click Forge Chain, and solve puzzles before the timer runs out. Every new account starts with 2,000 free coins to practise with.

How does the timer work?+

The timer gets shorter as your chain grows โ€” this is intentional and is the core difficulty mechanic:

Chain lengthTime per stepDifficulty
1โ€“2 links15 secondsStarter โ€” simple patterns
3โ€“4 links14 secondsComplex sequences begin
5โ€“6 links13 secondsColour & shape puzzles
7โ€“9 links12 secondsMatrix grid puzzles
10โ€“11 links11 secondsMemory flash
12โ€“14 links10 secondsLonger memory sequences
15โ€“17 links9 secondsHybrid puzzles
18โ€“19 links8 secondsMaster tier
20+ links7 secondsLegend tier โ€” elite speed

The timer bar turns amber at 50% and red at 25% remaining. If the timer hits zero it counts as a wrong answer โ€” the recovery rules for shields and multiplier decay still apply.

What are the milestones and multipliers?+
ChainMultiplierOn 100 coin entry
5 links1.5ร—150 coins
10 links2ร—200 coins
20 links3.5ร—350 coins
35 links7ร—700 coins
50 links12ร—1,200 coins
75 links25ร—2,500 coins
100 links50ร—2,000 coins
When can I cash out?+

There are two different "cash out" concepts in Chain Forge:

In-game cash out โ€” once you reach the first milestone at chain 5, a popup offers the choice to cash out at your current multiplier or push on for a bigger one. A wrong answer before a milestone ends your round.

Wallet withdrawal โ€” to send coins to your crypto wallet, you must reach chain 8 in your current session AND have a minimum of 1,000 coins. The withdrawal button stays locked until both are met. After requesting, the chain 8 lock resets for your next session.

What are the Forge Tiers?+
  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Bronze โ€” 100 coins entry ยท up to 5ร— max
  • โšก Silver โ€” 200 coins entry ยท up to 8ร— max
  • ๐Ÿ’Ž Gold โ€” 500 coins entry ยท up to 12ร— max
  • ๐ŸŒ€ Platinum โ€” 1,000 coins entry ยท up to 20ร— max
  • ๐Ÿ† Diamond โ€” 2,000 coins entry ยท up to 50ร— max

Puzzle difficulty is the same across all tiers โ€” only the coins at stake change.

๐Ÿงฉ Puzzle Types
What puzzle types are there?+

Chain Forge has five puzzle types that unlock progressively as your chain grows:

  • Number sequences โ€” arithmetic, Fibonacci, geometric, alternating operations, square numbers, prime sequences. Active from chain 1. Difficulty increases with each link.
  • Colour & shape sequences โ€” five distinct pattern types (rotation, dual-rule, odd-one-out, growing sequence, mirror symmetry). Appears from chain 5.
  • Matrix grids โ€” a 3ร—3 grid with one missing cell. Rows and columns follow independent rules simultaneously. Appears from chain 7.
  • Memory flash โ€” a sequence flashes briefly then disappears. Recall a specific element from memory. Appears from chain 10.
  • Hybrid challenges โ€” two logic types combined in one question. Appears from chain 15. At chain 20+ (Legend mode) all types rotate unpredictably.
How do shape and colour puzzles work?+

From chain 5, five types of colour and shape puzzle appear. Each type requires a different skill:

  • Three-colour rotation โ€” shapes cycle through 3 colours in order. The rotation may reverse as a trap.
  • Dual rule โ€” colour follows one rule and shape follows a completely different rule simultaneously. Track both at once.
  • Odd one out โ€” six shapes shown, one breaks both colour and shape rules. Identify which position.
  • Growing sequence โ€” blocks grow in count each step (1 red, 2 blue, 3 redโ€ฆ). Answer both colour and count.
  • Mirror symmetry โ€” seven shapes where the middle is a mirror point. Find the missing centre element.

All four answer options look plausible โ€” at least one decoy satisfies part of the rule but not all of it. You have 13 seconds at chain 5โ€“6.

How do matrix grid puzzles work?+

A 3ร—3 grid is shown with the bottom-right piece missing. Each row follows one rule and each column follows another โ€” for example, each row cycles through three colours, and each column cycles through three shapes.

Your job is to find the piece that satisfies both the row rule and the column rule simultaneously. This is the hardest puzzle type and requires you to hold two patterns in mind at once.

How do memory flash puzzles work?+

A sequence of shapes and colours flashes briefly, then disappears. Two difficulty levels:

  • Chain 10โ€“11 โ€” 5 elements flash for 2.5 seconds. You have 11 seconds to recall.
  • Chain 12โ€“14 โ€” 6 elements flash for only 2 seconds. You have 10 seconds to recall.

Questions vary: "what was shape 3?" or "which colour appeared twice?" โ€” pure visual memory, no pattern to reason through. Say the shapes aloud as they flash to use verbal memory as reinforcement.

When do new puzzle types first appear?+

New puzzle types introduce at specific chain lengths so you always have time to get comfortable with each one before it becomes part of the regular mix:

  • Chain 1โ€“2: Simple arithmetic only โ€” hook yourself in
  • Chain 3โ€“4: Complex numbers โ€” Fibonacci, square numbers, prime sequences, alternating operations
  • Chain 5โ€“6: Colour & shape sequences โ€” five visual pattern types
  • Chain 7โ€“9: Matrix grid puzzles โ€” 3ร—3 grids with dual row and column rules
  • Chain 10โ€“14: Memory flash โ€” sequence flashes then vanishes, recall from memory
  • Chain 15โ€“19: Hybrid puzzles โ€” two logic types combined in one question
  • Chain 20+: Legend mode โ€” all types in rotation, algorithmically generated, never repeat
โš” Competitions
What competitions are available?+

Chain Forge offers two competition formats accessible from the โš” Compete screen:

  • Head to Head (1v1) โ€” you vs one opponent. Both players pay the entry fee. Best chain wins 80% of the prize pool. House takes 20%.
  • Group Tournament โ€” 3 to 10 players. Best chain wins 60% of the net pool, 2nd place gets 30%, 3rd gets 10%. House takes 20% of the total pool.
How do I create a competition?+

Go to โš” Compete โ†’ choose Head to Head or Group Tournament โ†’ select your entry fee โ†’ click Create. You'll receive a 6-digit code to share with your opponents. Your entry coins are deducted immediately when you create the event.

How do I join a competition?+

Go to โš” Compete โ†’ enter the 6-digit code in the Join box โ†’ click Join. Your entry coins are deducted and you enter the event room. You can also browse active public events listed on the Compete screen and join with one tap.

How does the house cut work?+

Chain Forge takes a 20% house cut from every competition prize pool. This is deducted from the total pool before prizes are distributed. The exact amounts (total pool, house cut, and winner prize) are shown clearly on the event creation screen and in the event room before you play.

Example โ€” 1v1 with 500 coins entry each:

  • Total pool: 1,000 coins
  • House cut (20%): 200 coins
  • Winner receives: 800 coins
How is the winner determined?+

Each player plays a normal Chain Forge session within the competition. The player who achieves the longest chain in their session wins. Players play independently โ€” you don't play simultaneously or see each other's screens in real time. The results are compared when all players have completed their round.

What if there's a tie?+

In the event of a tie (equal chain lengths), the player who completed their round first is ranked higher. In a 1v1 tie, the prize pool is split equally between both players after the house cut.

How long does an event stay open?+

Events expire after 24 hours if not all players have joined and played. If an event expires before enough players join, your entry coins are refunded automatically. Contact support@thechainforge.fun if a refund hasn't appeared within 48 hours.

Can I cancel after joining?+

No. Entry fees are non-refundable once you join an event. This is because your joining is part of the contract with the other players in the event. Make sure you're ready to play before joining.

๐Ÿ”— Referrals
How does the referral programme work?+

Every player has a unique referral link found in My Account or on the Compete screen. When someone signs up using your link: they start at chain 3 instead of chain 1 (skipping the two starter levels), and you earn 200 bonus coins once they complete their first game session.

There is no limit to how many people you can refer โ€” every valid referral earns you 200 coins.

Where do I find my referral link?+

Your referral link is in two places:

  • โš™ My Account โ†’ scroll to the Refer & Earn section
  • โš” Compete screen โ†’ top of the page

Your link looks like: thechainforge.fun?ref=yourusername. Tap Copy to copy it to your clipboard, or tap Share to send via WhatsApp, messaging apps, or social media.

When do I receive my referral coins?+

Referral coins (200 coins) are credited to your account when the referred player completes their first game session โ€” not on signup. You can see your total referral count and coins earned in the Refer & Earn section of My Account.

What is the win share card?+

After a big win (7ร— multiplier or higher), a share card automatically appears showing your chain length and coins won. You can share it directly to WhatsApp, X (Twitter), or copy a link.

Every share card includes your referral link โ€” so every time you celebrate a win, you're also growing the community and earning referral coins if someone signs up.

Can referred players refer others too?+

Yes. Every player, regardless of how they joined, gets their own referral link and earns 200 coins when each referred player completes their first session. Referral rewards are not stacked or multi-level โ€” you only earn for direct referrals via your own link.

๐Ÿ†• New in v9
What are Shield Tokens?+

Shield Tokens protect your chain when it would otherwise drop. You start each session with 3 shields. From chain 10 onwards, every 5 correct answers costs one shield. If you have no shields and answer wrong, your chain drops back 3 links โ€” not to zero.

Earn shields by completing the Daily Challenge, hitting a new personal best, or maintaining a 7-day login streak. They cannot be bought.

What happens if I get an answer wrong?+

It depends on your chain level:

  • Chain 1โ€“9: Wrong answer ends your round.
  • Chain 10โ€“14 (with shields): A shield absorbs the mistake and your chain holds.
  • Chain 10โ€“14 (no shields): Your chain drops back 3 links.
  • Chain 15+: Your chain stays intact but your multiplier decays by 15%. A correct answer recovers 5%.

The game always shows you the correct answer and why it's correct after every wrong guess.

What is the Daily Challenge?+

Every day, one special puzzle is released โ€” the same for all players. Solve it correctly to earn 50 bonus coins and a Shield Token. You get one attempt per day. Check back each day for a new challenge and see how your time compares to other players.

How does the multiplier decay work above chain 15?+

Above chain 15 (Legend prep zone), a wrong answer no longer ends your chain โ€” instead your multiplier decays by 15%. A subsequent correct answer recovers 5%. Your chain length stays intact. This means you can keep playing but must weigh whether the reward is still worth it at the decayed multiplier.

โฌ† Withdrawals
How do I withdraw?+

Go to โš™ My Account โ†’ scroll to Withdraw Coins โ†’ make sure your wallet address is saved โ†’ enter the amount โ†’ choose currency โ†’ click Request Withdrawal. Coins are deducted immediately and processed within 24โ€“48 hours.

What is the minimum withdrawal?+

Minimum withdrawal is 1,000 coins ($10 USD). Starter coins cannot be withdrawn โ€” only coins won from gameplay, competitions, or referrals.

Are there withdrawal fees?+

A flat 2% processing fee is charged on all withdrawals. Network/gas fees are also deducted. The full fee breakdown is shown before you confirm.

How long do withdrawals take?+

Withdrawal requests are reviewed and processed within 24โ€“48 hours. You will receive two emails:

  • An acknowledgement when your request is received
  • A payout confirmation email once the crypto has been sent to your wallet โ€” this includes the amount, currency, and your wallet address for verification

First-time withdrawals may take slightly longer for account verification. If you haven't heard anything after 48 hours, contact support@thechainforge.fun.

Click the link in the email and you'll be taken back to Chain Forge where you can set a new password. If you signed up with Google, use the Continue with Google button instead โ€” there is no password to reset.

How do I delete my account?+

Email support@thechainforge.fun from your registered email with subject "Account deletion request". Processed within 48 hours. Withdraw any remaining coins first โ€” balances cannot be recovered after deletion.

โš™ Technical
What devices can I play on?+

Any device with a modern browser โ€” desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile. No app download needed. For best results at high chain lengths where timers drop to 7 seconds (Legend tier, chain 20+), a desktop or laptop is strongly recommended. On mobile the shorter timers become very challenging from chain 15 onwards.

Is the game fair?+

Yes. Chain Forge is skill-based. Every puzzle has one mathematically correct answer determined by the pattern shown. There is no randomised outcome โ€” only your speed and accuracy determines the result. The house cut on competitions (20%) is the only way Chain Forge monetises competitive play, and it is disclosed clearly on every event screen.

The game is not loading โ€” what should I do?+
  • Hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
  • Try Chrome if on another browser
  • Disable browser extensions
